The Greenways is comprised of two Nashville transplants. Detroit soul singer Alicia Michilli and Colorado raised, singer-songwriter Chris Swartwood (Christopher Kevin). Alicia and Chris met in early May 2012. The first song they ever sang together was “A Change is Going to Come” by Sam Cooke, on a sidewalk downtown Nashville the night they met. The chemistry was immediate and palpable.
After working together on several writing and recording sessions around Nashville, they formed the Greenways in July of 2012. The Greenways blend together soulful melodies, feel good hooks, and stripped down arrangements to create a listening experience that is simultaneously filled with yearning and passion, joyful, and hauntingly beautiful.
